# Keyboard shortcuts

tratto is meant to be used from the keyboard. Every menu command can have a key, and the keys are data: they come from
`menu.json`, the file the menus are built from (see [Menus & shortcuts](/docs/customize/menus-and-shortcuts)).

## See every shortcut

- In the app: **Help › Keyboard Shortcuts**, or `⌘/` on macOS and `Ctrl+/` on Linux. The sheet groups the keys by
menu and filters as you type.
- On the web: the [keyboard shortcuts reference](/docs/reference/keyboard-shortcuts), generated from the same file,
with the macOS and the Linux key side by side.

## The first ones to learn

| Action | macOS | Linux |
|---|---|---|
| Quick Command | `⌘P` | `Ctrl+P` |
| Settings | `⌘,` | `Ctrl+,` |
| Keyboard shortcuts | `⌘/` | `Ctrl+/` |
| Home, Git, IDE module | `⌃⌘1`, `⌃⌘2`, `⌃⌘3` | `Ctrl+Alt+1`, `Ctrl+Alt+2`, `Ctrl+Alt+3` |
| Next, previous module | `⌃⌘→`, `⌃⌘←` | `Ctrl+Alt+PgDn`, `Ctrl+Alt+PgUp` |
| Fetch, pull, push | `⇧⌘F`, `⇧⌘L`, `⇧⌘P` | `Ctrl+Shift+F`, `Ctrl+Shift+L`, `Ctrl+Shift+P` |
| New branch, checkout | `⇧⌘B`, `⌘B` | `Ctrl+Shift+B`, `Ctrl+B` |
| Refresh | `⌘R` | `Ctrl+R` |
| Copilot | `⌘\` | `Ctrl+\` |

## On Linux

The menus are written with the macOS keys. On Linux `⌘` becomes `Ctrl`, and the few combinations a Linux desktop
keeps for itself get a key of their own or none: Zen Mode is `Ctrl+Alt+Z`, and
Show in Finder and Open in Terminal use
`Ctrl+Alt+Shift+O` and `Ctrl+Alt+Shift+T`.
