# Worktrees

## Add a worktree

**Repository › New Worktree…**. Start it from a local branch, a remote branch, or a new branch at a commit, and pick
its folder.

## Manage worktrees

Worktrees are listed in the sidebar. A worktree's context menu offers **Open as Repository**, **Lock…** (with a
reason), **Unlock**, **Remove…** and **Prune Missing Worktrees**. Removing asks first when the worktree has
modifications, is locked or holds submodules.
