# Tags

## Create a tag

**Repository › New Tag…** (`⇧⌘G` / `Ctrl+Shift+G`), or **New Tag…** on a commit. A tag is lightweight, or annotated
with a message.

## Push and delete

A tag's context menu offers **Push '…'**, **Create Branch from '…'…** and **Delete…**.

## Which tags the remote has

Each local tag is marked with whether it is already on the remote; tratto asks the remote with `git ls-remote`.
