# Usage & cost

The usage strip in the status bar shows the Claude account you are signed in with and how much of its five-hour
window is used. Click it for the details. It refreshes on its own (**Settings › Integration › Usage**).

## Where the numbers come from

- **The account and plan** come from `claude auth status`.
- **The quota windows** come from cswap, so they show only when cswap is connected and the same account is active in
it. Codex reports its own quota.
- **The cost** is computed on your machine from Claude Code's own session files (in `~/.claude/projects`), at list
prices. It is an estimate: your real bill depends on your plan. Codex has no local cost.

The cost panel shows today, this month, the last 30 days and all time. While it is still reading, it says the numbers
are partial.

## Prices

The prices ship with the app. To use your own, put a `prices.json` in `agents/` in the
[configuration folder](/docs/settings).
